Eurocommerce Singapore passed away

At the very moment that two of his sons were appointed to the third viewing at the KWPN stallion show in 's Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, news broke that the stallion Eurocommerce Singapore passed away after his castration.

While trying to stand up after the operation he so severely injured himself that the vet had to decide to put him down.

Hans-Heinrich Isenbarth - the Voice - has passed away

The voice of the CHIO Aachen and many other horse events Hans-Heinrich Isenbarth has passed away at 88 years of age.

Hans-Heinrich Isenbarth had a remarkable voice, recognizable even with your eyes closed.
He has done reports on the equestrian sports for German television for more than 60 years.

This is a photo of him and that other famous equestrian personality, Hans G?nther Winkler. When "HGW" won his Olympic gold medal in Stockholm with Halla, Hans-Heinrich Isenbarth was there to inform the German television audience.

Princess Adelinde Cornelissen

In her busy schedule Adelinde Cornelissen managed to create some time for a photo shoot with Arnd Bronkhorst.

Arnd is currently in his romantic phase, with photo shoots full of princess dresses, knights, horses and fire breathing dragons. These pictures are taken for the Dutch magazine "BIT", that will feature a themed issue that perfectly fits this subject.
This time the subject was the Reem Acra dress that Adelinde wore at the recent prize giving for the "FEI Athlete of the Year" award presented to her in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Helped by hairstylist Inge Sikkens and assistant Nathalie de Wilde, and let's not forget "Autumn Leaves Specialist" Sjaak van der Lei, Adelinde braved the cold weather in her beautiful dress, which was obviously not created for these chilly temperatures.
5 minutes after the photo shoot Adelinde was teaching students again, but the images of this metamorphosis will appear in "BIT" magazine of january 13th 2012: Adelinde as no-one has ever seen her before!

New book by Lammert Haanstra about training horses and riders

"Training towards a great going horse" is the loosely translated title of the new Dutch book by Lammert and Jet Haanstra.
Adelinde Cornelissen lends a hand: see her do fitness training, and even jumping! Besides her, Jennifer Sekr?ve and Irene van Seggelen show several training methods in many different situations together with Lammert Haanstra.

The book provides practical information to train horses and riders, in a way that improves the wellfare and well being of both.

Arnd Bronkhorst has done the many photos for the book in a lot of different locations.

From the beginning arnd.nl has had many dressage and show jumping pictures. In this part of the world these are the dominant horse sports, and therefore well represented in our database.
Disciplines such as Eventing, Endurance, Western, Four in Hand, Vaulting and Para Equestrian have become much more important over the years.
Racing, Turf and trotting is seriously in decline in the Netherlands: it becomes more and more difficult to earn any money at all in this field.
Internationally that is completely different: our colleague Frank Sorge is a specialist in this. He travels the globe to photograph all the important races, including the glamorous world around it.

But don't forget our other photographers, seeing this world in their own way.

Playing with Percherons

If you co-operate with a French photographer living in the "Perche" region, you can expect photos of Percheron horses.

Fr?d?ric Ch?hu often visits horse festivals and markets in his area where Percherons are present.
Percherons are very large draft horses, typical for this "Perche" region in the vicinity of Paris.
The images of Fr?d?ric show the Percheron horses in many different roles: at breeding shows, working the land, in the fire brigade and even in the theater!
